It’s Saturday, time to channel your inner Donald and get nauti(cal)!

Does anyone else have a greater appreciation for Donald Duck after watching the reboot of DuckTales?

As a fan of the original, we were a little worried. However, the show does an amazing balancing act by fleshing out characters we know and love by exploring their past but also keeping true to the source material.

You will find yourself going through a cycle of “Oh, did they do that… I love that character...” to “Oh, THAT’s why they did that! I love that character!” Like most anthropomorphic trios in the 90s, the original Huey, Duey, and Luey did have their own personalities. Still, one would always take over, giving the illusion of the other two just being flat carbon copies with a palette swap.

With this new series, every character feels unique and has a different stake in the show. With Donald’s past being explored (along with other 90s Disney-verse characters), it allows the viewers to understand his motivation for everything and relate to him better.

Without spoiling too much, we want to say that he is one of the best Uncles on television right now. Kids will have fun with the show, but fans of the 90’s Disney cartoons will love and appreciate it!
