More than tequila and tacos

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone! Today is more than an excuse to drink tequila and eat tacos. Cinco de Mayo is not the day of independence but a memorial day for the Battle of Puebla. After being robbed of land and more culture during the Mexican-American War, the Battle of Puebla was a much needed and well-deserved win that raised the morale of the Mexican nation. This is an underdog story about 4000 Mexican troops warding off Napoleon III and his army of 8000 men. It was 300, except the Spartans win this time. How epic is that???

Cinco de Mayo represents the strength and drive of a nation during a time of oppression. It is a powerful day for people with Mexican heritage. So please keep this in mind when knocking back tequila shots while ordering 12 tacos ( we love lengua in ours) from your favorite taqueria or food truck.
