Back in time at the Polynesian

Here’s picture of Karen pretending to do hula.🌺

Hehe seriously, though, how awesome is the Polynesian? Every time we visit Disney world, we always make a stop here. Growing up in Hawaii, you would think we would pass on it. However, the retro style inspired by the Donn Beach Era of tourism in Hawaii is mesmerizing. Although there are still remnants of this influence left on the islands, Disney (like with everything else) knows how to take a time period and stylize it. The authenticity of the '50s is reflected in one of our favorite bars at Disney world, Trader Sams! Their over the top and purposefully tacky flair with the use of post-prohibition ingredients (most of which was lost during the '70s) hurls you back in time and warmly welcomes you in as if you were returning from overseas.
